Join this early morning tour to the east side of Bali.
Lempuyang Temple, locally referred to as Pura Lempuyang Luhur, will be our first stop and is one of Bali’s oldest and most highly regarded temples, on par with Besakih (the „mother temple“ of Bali). It is believed to predate the majority of Hindu temples on the island. Definitely a highlight on any travel itinerary, the main temple lies at 1,175m above sea level, up on the peak of its namesake, Mount Lempuyang, in East Bali. Walk through the temple along the stairs and you will feel the the real spiritual vibrancy of the temple. From here you can see Mount Agung, the highest volcano in Bali and can take amazing pictures between the temple gates with Mt. Agung in the background.
Our next stop will be at a beautiful water palace called Tirta Gangga where you will enjoy lunch and see a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by beautiful statues and gardens. The centerpiece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain with many Koi fish in the pond below.
After lunch we will continue to the Taman Ujung “water palace” (Taman Sukasada Ujung) which was built in 1919. It is the sister site of Tirta Gangga and was also built by the late Raja of Karangasem. The complex consists of various large pools and historic structures set against a backdrop of Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline.
The last stop will be at Bukit Asah near Bugbug village to enjoy the beautiful view from the cliffs. Besides Bukit Asah you can also enjoy the virgin beaches below. The water is crystal clear and shimmers in an amazing blue color.
There are some fantastic photo opportunities on the way down to the beach where you can snap pictures of the banana forests, the volcano and the ocean.
